Sustainable Together
Working towards a liveable, sustainable environment — from energy to circular construction.
The part-time Applied AI programme is part of Hogeschool Utrecht (HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht): a knowledge organisation where students, lecturers and professionals build the future together, every day.
Through high-quality education and research, HU aims to contribute to the quality of life and living together in the urban Utrecht region — and to an open, just and sustainable society. All of this happens under a single motto: Together for the future. All education and research is organised around four focus areas:
Working towards a liveable, sustainable environment — from energy to circular construction.
Renewing health and care, with people as the starting point.
Lifelong development — for students and working professionals alike.
Applying digitalisation and AI responsibly in professional practice. This is where Applied AI belongs.
Learning doesn't stop at a degree. Lifelong development is central to the HU vision: education that is practice- and competence-oriented, designed for professionals who study alongside their jobs.
Your route is shaped in consultation with your learning team coach — depending on your prior education and experience.
Lecturers come from the field and bring current developments straight into the classroom. What you learn, you apply in your own work that same week.
Classes are every other week, alternating between Friday and Saturday — studying and working reinforce each other instead of competing.
Today's big challenges — health, technology, society, climate — call for multiple disciplines and perspectives at once. That is where opportunities for sustainable innovation arise.
Digitalisation is a strategic focus area in all of this: precisely the field that Applied AI trains you for.
